Why Mentoring?

The costs of law school have risen exponentially in the last decade and many people are realizing that law school is not a good investment for everyone. Pursuing a legal education is an expensive and time consuming endeavor and people should know what they are getting into before deciding whether or not law school is a good choice for them.

Up until now, there has been no easy way to "dip your toes" in the water and learn a lot about the profession before diving in to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on LSAT prep, taking the LSAT, law school applications, and law school itself.

We created this program to allow prospective law students (including undergraduates and working professionals) to connect with attorneys who can mentor them and teach them about the legal profession. Mentors can also help prospective law students learn more about the day-to-day practice of law, different legal practice areas, and possible legal career paths.

Who can join as a Mentee?

Our program is for college students and working professionals who are interested in pursuing a Juris Doctor degree in the United States. To be eligible to be a mentee you must satisfy the following requirements:

✓ Be over 18 years of age

✓ Be interested in pursuing a Juris Doctor degree in the United States

You do not have to have any particular work experience or undergraduate major. People from all industries and academic disciplines are welcome.

How Does Our Mentoring Program Work?

We created an easy, convenient, and secure way for prospective law students to connect with attorney mentors and build relationships with them via our online platform!

Build a Profile. When you join our community, you'll fill out a profile with your background and interests.

Match with a Mentor. You can search for mentors by reviewing their profiles and reaching out to them directly for mentoring. Mentors can also search through mentee profiles and offer mentoring to mentees directly.

Meet. Schedule meetings, video chat, message, and take notes on the platform. There's no need to exchange sensitive information like phone numbers and email addresses. Meeting frequency is determined by you and your mentor, but we recommend meeting at least 1-2 times a month.

Build lasting relationships! We provide all the tools you need to build lasting relationships. You will have access to a career development plan with recommended mentoring objectives. You are expected to drive the mentoring relationship by selecting objectives to complete with your mentor. We also provide a wide variety of learning resources to help you steer your mentoring relationships and learn more about law school and the legal profession.

We are not currently accepting new participants for the mentoring program
